Bell
Interchangeable Magnetic Round Bar Display
Bell’s 5 ft. and 6 ft. round bars are prominent focal points within 42 retail locations across Canada. Positioned to greet customers as they enter the store, these fixtures play an important role in setting the retail environment and showcasing Bell’s latest products, services and promotions.
The challenge was keeping them looking that way.
Historically, promotional graphics were applied directly to the surface of the round bars. While effective when first installed, the graphics were exposed to the realities of a busy retail environment. Daily customer interaction, cleaning and general wear could cause the graphics to peel, scuff and deteriorate over time - compromising the appearance of one of the first displays customers encounter when entering the store.
Rather than simply replacing the graphics using the same application, Resource Integrated worked with Bell to develop a more durable and flexible solution.
The RI team engineered a two-layer interchangeable magnetic graphic system. A magnetic base layer is permanently applied to the round bar, while individually produced metallic graphic sections sit securely on top. This allows individual sections of the display to be removed and replaced without disturbing the surrounding graphics or requiring the entire surface to be reproduced.
The system provides Bell with greater flexibility as campaigns, offers and messaging change. Instead of replacing an entire graphic installation, individual sections can be updated as required - helping simplify future campaign changeovers while maintaining a clean, consistent presentation.
Precision was especially important given the size and circular configuration of the fixtures. Each graphic section needed to align accurately with the next to create a seamless finished surface. RI managed the production and coordination of the system through to installation across Bell’s national retail network.
The result is a display solution designed not just for the current campaign, but for the campaigns that come next.
It’s a good example of what Print & Beyond means at Resource Integrated: looking past the immediate print requirement, identifying the operational challenge and developing a smarter way to execute it.
